Credentialing Supervisor

Position Summary

The Credentialing Supervisor is expected to be in the Brentwood office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for remote work.

Responsible to oversee day to day operations of assigned team to include credentialing, recredentialing and privileging processes for all providers who deliver patient care at our contracted hospitals. Works directly with leadership, providers and external clients to ensure satisfaction and timeliness. Collaborates with Credentialing department leadership to set goals and metrics, and monitors performance.  Ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and company policies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 15%: Oversees the process of pre-filling; sending and receiving of accurate and complete credentialing information until provider file is complete
  • 15%: In tandem with Credentialing manager, spearhead onboarding efforts for new accounts and acquisitions within assigned region(s) (requires travel to complete necessary due diligence to ensure smooth transition)
  • 10%: Travels periodically to facilities within assigned region(s) to build and maintain positive working relationships with APP hospital MSOs
  • 10%: Audit team performance through review of weekly tracking and workflow report, expirables audit, escalation report, and stopped in house reports
  • 10%: Coordinate team efforts and distribution of workload
  • 10%: Lead, train, and develop performance of assigned team
  • 5%: Serve as a subject matter expert for activities related to credentialing
  • 5%: Investigate and resolve complex credentialing issues
  • 5%: Ensure transparency of team efforts and hurdles through meeting attendance, reporting, and proper communication
  • 5%: Assist with ECHO administration to include but not limited to mapping, editing, and uploading forms; troubleshooting issues; and escalating to system administrator or IT
  • 5%: Coordinate COI renewals for assigned region(s)
  • 5%: All other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Five years of relevant credentialing experience preferred
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred

Skills Required:

  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Research and analyze data to support decision making
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access) and internet resources

Abilities Required:

  • Ability to handle and maintain secure files containing sensitive personal information
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts outside the organization
  • Ability to follow established work-flows; standard operating procedures and corporate policies and procedures
  • Ability to serve as company representative
