A Partnership to Drive Change
During a Crisis
Regional Medical Center | Anniston, AL
Regional Medical Center (RMC)’s existing Emergency Department (ED) group was failing to meet its operational and quality goals. The group was also facing financial hardship, which resulted in its inability to pay the ED physicians and NPs. Louis Bass, CEO, turned to American Physician Partners because of their recognized expertise in ED turnarounds.
Even before the contract was finalized, APP representatives were onsite working through the transition details. They even provided retention bonuses to the fulltime providers who hadn’t been paid by the previous group in order to bring stability to the team. After the development and implementation of a detailed performance improvement plan and the regular tracking of progress though APP’s KPI Scorecard and monthly operational meetings, the hospital’s ED realized significant results. Mr. Bass was particularly impressed by APP’s responsiveness during the transition and ability to motivate the team to realize the following benefits:

Exceeding expectations of our patients, providers and hospital partners.SM
Don’t just take our word for it.

“American Physician Partners gives us the feeling that they are part of our team.
This is a great example of how to successfully drive change management in a crisis. ”
