LEMA’s 34 physicians and 9 advanced practice clinicians care for 115,000 emergency department patients annually in the following CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System (GSHS) facilities:

  • CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center–Longview, a Level II Trauma Center and teaching facility where medical students and Internal Medicine residents rotate through the Emergency Department
  • CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center–Marshall, a designated Level III Trauma Center that hosts third-year residents from the LSU-Shreveport Emergency Medicine residency program

  • CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center–Kilgore

Managing partners Drs. Stan Upchurch and John DiPasquale founded LEMA in 1998 and both have served on the board of directors of GSHS. For the past 21 years, LEMA has played an integral leadership role in both the medical centers and the community, with four of their physicians having served as chief of staff throughout the system and several serving as physician leaders for indigent health clinics throughout East Texas. The group of board certifed physicians enjoys a strong relationship with the system and community and boasts a 95 percent retention rate.
